MEETING MAYNARD I first encountered Maynard at the FOF (that's Festival of Fools to you!) but his wit and persona brightened a not so perfect trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" lately. After a fall (over a metal basket rack in Star Traders ---Watch Out!) I limped to meet some friends and reclaim my 6 yr. old (Formerly known as Esmerelda, at said FOF, and now, known as Rose, or is that "Mulan" - ALWAYS in character of course...) in the Honey, I shrunk the Audience and who should we encounter but THE MAN himself, where I "tried" to explain him to my friends, they just settled in and enjoyed the ride. He occupied us throughout, and I called to him "Maynard where's your hat?" as I had always seen him with his jesters attire at FOF, whereupon he used a plastic lid as his chapeau and entertained the waiting audience, not one of them knew what to make of it or even respond with laughter (Maybe none spoke English as their primary language?? Once into the theatre he continued his "Routine", "squishy, squishy", interpreting for a lonely seat, and I for one laughed and cried even as they later wheeled my off to First Aid in a wheelchair and then off into the bowels of LAX, also in a wheelchair! I look forward to more laughter as we spend Halloween there, and know that the "Evil Twin" will certainly be there, as we head to "Caspers' Place" (as Rose calls it) and look for him to give us "Kids" candy for Halloween.
