MEETING MAYNARD I'd had a season pass to disneyland since 1994, and I never saw or heard of Maynard. Anyways in November of 1996 my great-grandfather had passed away at the age of 92. My whole family was heart broken. We had some family members come down for the funeral from Washington. Since they hadn't been to Disneyland in a while and my great-grandfather had built and helped design some parts on the submarine ride, we thought it would be a good idea to go to Disneyland. There were 10 of us going, and we were the most depressed people at The Happiest Place On Earth. Then we saw this boat captain on the Jungle Cruise wearing banana leaves in his hat, and he gave everyone this psycho look. He went through the cruise with his unusual routine. To get to the point Maynard made my family forget about our problems for a while.
